There’s no doubt about it: with his elegiac pop compositions, Harry Lyon is following in some very big footsteps, no matter how far back you look in British music history. He pays respectful tribute to the leading figures of recent years—Ed Sheeran or George Ezra, for example—as early as his first EP, “Lessons” (2024), yet in his songs he creates a drama all his own, a unique sound that blends atmospheric piano passages, carefully placed guitars, and modern production featuring cinematic synthesizer pads. Time and again, his work is defined by that deeply charismatic voice, with which he establishes a vocal drama all his own through a calm timbre and emotional outbursts. Both endings and new beginnings find their place, their time, and their space here. Singles like “Backwards” or “While We’re Still Young” also make his second studio album, “Porcelain” (2025), an ideal soundtrack for the most painful—but also the most beautiful—days of the year.
