Westside Cowboy

plus special guests

Westside Cowboy announce their biggest headline tour to date this Autumn.

The announcement comes off the back of acclaimed second EP So Much Country ‘Till We Get There - which came out

in January via Island Records imprint Adventure Recordings.

The quartet finished a tour winning over audiences with their charming, self-styled Britainicana whilst

supporting Brooklyn icons Geese. This followed their own fully sold-out UK run in January/February, debut US dates

in late 2025, and a tour with Black Country, New Road last October.

That their numerous live highlights so far have slingshotted the group towards 1000 + cap venues before any news of

a debut album speaks to the fact that much of the group’s reputation as leaders of a vital new wave of UK bands has

come from a scintillating live set. This is already establishing an immersive mythos, replete with ‘I was there’

credentials, and if-you-know-you-know moments. Packed out stages at Glastonbury, Green Man, End of The Road

and more during the summer months of last year were evidence of an outfit striking at the core of the scene.

Described as “thrilling” by Aleixis Petridis of The Guardian, “reshaping UK indie” by DAZED, and as “one of the UK’s

most exciting forces” in a recent NME Cover feature, their output so far showcases a band blessed with telepathic

understanding between each member, and unafraid to take this coalescent magic outside their comfort zone.

So Much Country ‘Till We Get There was recorded with esteemed producer Loren Humphrey in New York, who also

leant his studio expertise to Cameron Winter’s acclaimed Heavy Metal LP (alongside credits for Arctic Monkeys, Lana

Del Rey, Wunderhorse and more). This EP birthed infectious singles ‘Don’t Throw Rocks’ and ‘Can’t See’, each of

which featured on BBC 6 Music’s playlist, and saw support on BBC Radio 1 from Greg James, Sian Eleri, Alyx

Holcombe, and more.

Westside Cowboy is Reuben Haycocks (guitar, vocals), James (Jimmy) Bradbury (guitar, vocals), Aoife Anson O’Connell (bass guitar, vocals), Paddy Murphy (drums, vocals)

Westside Cowboy sound new but seem to come from an old place. Surrounded by 1978 Fender Twin Reverbs, well-thumbed Wem catalogues, a four-track recorder and spools of cassette tape the Manchester four-piece are made up of Aoife Anson O’Connell, James (Jimmy) Bradbury, Paddy Murphy and Reuben Haycocks. With a sound raw as a carpet burn, they ride a thrilling lo-fi boxcar tuned to the melodic precision of Teenage Fanclub and held together with the slacker cool of Pavement. For most bands this would be enough, but not for Westside Cowboy. Just when you think you have them pinned, they career the entire thing into a brick wall of country, trad and early harmony coated, major-key rock’n’roll. They call this process ‘Britainicana’. A portmanteau of the band’s own making to describe Amer- ican culture digested by English people in small towns with almost nothing in the way of cosmopolitan sheen. “Think kids in double denim and Converse eating Greggs vegan sausage rolls.” It’s alarming and exh
