The Black Keys komen op vrijdag 4 september 2026 naar AFAS Live voor hun 'PEACHES 'N KREAM WORLD TOUR' die op 24 april van start gaat en steden aandoet in Noord-Amerika en Europa, waaronder New York, Chicago, Nashville, Londen, Parijs en Milaan. De show staat in het teken van hun nieuwe album Peaches!, dat op 1 mei 2026 verschijnt via Easy Eye Sound / Warner Records. Het album is een verzameling van tien nummers die Dan Auerbach omschrijft als het meest authentieke album van de band sinds het debuut The Big Come Up (2002). Het album ontstond in een moeilijke periode, toen Auerbach's vader ernstig ziek was. Patrick Carney moedigde hem aan de studio in te gaan, wat resulteerde in een oprecht en energiek album, grotendeels live opgenomen en zelf gemixt. Vorige week bracht de band de eerste single, "You Got To Lose", uit. Over The Black Keys Dan Auerbach (zang, gitaar) en Patrick Carney (drums) begonnen begin jaren 2000 in Akron, Ohio, als twee jeugdvrienden die muziek maakten rond een eenvoudige tape-recorder. Inmiddels hebben ze vijf GRAMMY® Awards gewonnen, meer dan tien miljoen albums verkocht en miljarden streams verzameld. Met albums als Thickfreakness (2003), Magic Potion (2006) en Attack & Release (2008) bouwden ze hun reputatie op als een van de spannendste rockacts van hun generatie. Brothers (2010) leverde een GRAMMY® op voor "Best Alternative Music Album", El Camino (2011) drie GRAMMY's en Turn Blue (2014) kwam binnen op #1 in de Billboard 200. Met Dropout Boogie (2022) en uitverkochte shows wereldwijd, waaronder Madison Square Garden, bewijzen The Black Keys dat ze live nog steeds indruk maken.

The Black Keys are an American blues rock band formed in Ohio in 2001. Band members, and childhood friends, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney self-produced their tracks until making the big time in 2010.

Robert Finley“I remember the first time my pawpaw took me down to the Black Bayou,” Robert Finley recalls on “Alligator Bait,” a talking blues that closes out his visceral and vibrant new record. As the guitars pop and crackle around him, coalescing into a slow rhythmic crawl like an airboat along muddy waters, the 70-year-old Louisiana native casts back in his memory for this harrowing story. Dressed in swamp boots and waders, the kid “stepped on a log and the log moved!” His grandfather shot the gator that snapped at him, but the boy quickly realized that he was intended as bait. There’s some humor to the outrageous incident, but the song emphasizes the tragedy of it: how he was never able to forgive his grandfather for risking his young life, how the incident drove a wedge through several generations of Finleys. “A song should tell a good story,” says Robert Finley sixty years later. “By the time you hear it beginning to end, it should be like reading a short story or a novel. It should be more than just a laugh. It should leave some kind of impression on whoever’s listening to it. And it should stay as close to the truth as possible.”
