JAN 9 - SYD - LIBERTY HALL COURTS
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
This January, UK underground institution Rinse FM lands in Sydney for a special open-air takeover of Liberty Hall Courts, led by grime heavyweight Jme and a carefully curated lineup of selectors spanning the full spectrum of UK club music.
Broadcasting from East London since 1994, Rinse FM has been at the forefront of underground music for more than three decades. From pirate radio roots to becoming one of the world's most respected platforms for grime, dubstep, UK garage, jungle and bass music, Rinse has introduced generations of groundbreaking artists while shaping the sound of dance music around the globe.
Leading the charge is Jme, the pioneering MC, producer and founding member of the legendary Boy Better Know collective alongside his brother Skepta. A defining figure in grime's evolution, Jme helped take the genre from London's pirate airwaves to an international stage without ever compromising its independent spirit.
Joining him is an expertly curated bill that reflects the breadth of Rinse FM's sound. Yung Singh brings his signature blend of Punjabi sounds, UK garage, grime and jungle, while Mia Koden delivers heavyweight selections rooted in dubstep, bass and experimental club music. Surusinghe moves effortlessly between UK bass, breaks, techno and percussive club rhythms, while Prozak brings his infectious take on UK garage, blending 2-step, speed garage and bass-driven club sounds.
Rounding out the lineup are Jane Decks, Caucasian Opportunities and Max Cherry, bringing their own distinct perspectives to a day built around discovery, movement and the sounds that have defined UK club culture for generations.
Expect an afternoon of heavyweight selectors, genre-spanning sets and a rare opportunity to experience the world of Rinse FM in an open-air setting. From grime and garage to jungle, bass and beyond, this is a full-day celebration of the sounds, artists and communities that continue to shape underground music worldwide.
