MantraAs an artist, Mantra has covered a huge amount of ground in the last eight years. One of Australia’s most popular rappers, he is an Obese Records alumni with two albums under his belt, an outstanding amount of airplay and, above all, the kind of respect that earned him the label ‘your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper’. From being a daydreaming kid writing beats for his mates, to rising the ranks of the Melbourne Hip-Hop scene as an MC, Mantra has followed his heart with conviction and pride. Immeasurably shaped by tragedy, in 2003 Mantra’s friend Hani Ghaleb Jaber – the same friend who first encouraged him to become an MC – was murdered. This incident, and the reflection it brought about in Mantra, has helped shape and reiterate his path ever since, injecting his work with a realness that would later become his signature. In 2010, Mantra was snapped up by iconic label Obese Records – putting him in the company of Australian Hip-Hop’s greatest talents. His first album, 2010’s Power Of The Spoken, was incendiary. A success with fans and critics across the country, Power Of The Spoken was thematically diverse and creative, threaded together with a relentless Hip-Hop soul. Heavily requested on radio, Power Of The Spoken found itself in the coveted triple j Feature Album spot, which helped catapult Mantra to legions of new fans. Following up in 2011, Mantra’s second album, Speaking Volumes, was a significant artistic step forward and a huge personal statement. Dedicated to Hani Ghaleb Jaber and featuring the powerful eulogy For You; Speaking Volumes showed the depth and complexity that Mantra can reach with his music. Big collaborations were part of the record’s big sound, with guest verses from Promoe, Drapht, Urthboy and Illy throughout Speaking Volumes, and production credits going to the mighty M-Phazes, El Gusto and Mista Savona. Led by first single Got Me Wrong, which became triple j’s most requested song the week of its release, Speaking Volumes maintained Mantra’s lofty position with his fans, his peers and the media. Back in 2013 with a new single and a new label, Mantra has kicked off the year by signing with Ten To Two Records and dropping his first song for the label, Loudmouth. Autobiographical and unapologetic, Loudmouth tells the story of Mantra’s path from class clown to MC, laying a serious chorus hook over an irresistible beat. Professor Green

Professor Green has released two full length studio albums on Virgin Records – 2010's All Till I'm Dead and At Your Inconvenience, released on 28th October 2011. In November 2011 he topped the UK singles charts with Read All About It, featuring Emeli Sandé on vocals and taken from his album At Your Inconvenience. The pair were invited to perform on the X Factor making Professor Green the first rapper to appear on the show. Never Be A Right Time, Remedy and the forthcoming Avalon are amongst other singles to be released from the 2 x UK Gold album. Razorlight
Since forming in 2002, Razorlight have cemented their place as one of Britain’s Classic Indie-Rock bands. Their vertiginous rise saw them tour their way from squat parties in London’s East End to the 2005 global TV charity event Live 8 where they established themselves as the urchin rock’n’roll challengers most likely to go stadium.
Their debut album ‘Up All Night ’ came out in 2004, capturing the incendiary energy of the original early 2000s London scene and carrying the era defining hits ‘Golden Touch’ and ‘Somewhere Else’. The album peaked at number 3 in the UK Album’s chart, and received glowing reviews from music tastemakers NME, Q Magazine and Billboard.
By the mid 2000s they were at the epicentre of the UK’s gangly guitar band re-surgence channeling the leftfield influences of Television, Patti Smith and the Velvet Underground into the pop mainstream, and in fractious alliance with The Libertines and Amy Winehouse, taking Camden waster rock into the tabloids.
With their self-titled, UK number one follow-up, Razorlight truly made the leap onto the international stage. Lead single, ‘In The Morning’, reached number three in the UK, and 'America’ went straight to number one. In 2006 Borrell appeared on the front cover of the UK Independent newspaper campaigning for Friends Of The Earth and in 2007 the band headlined Reading Festival. A third album, 2008’s ‘Slipway Fires, provided top-ten singles across the UK and Europe.
Following a shelved fourth album and a lengthy hiatus, punctuated by 2018’s ‘ Olympus Sleeping’, the line up from the second album re-united. In April 2021 Johnny Borrell, Andy Burrows, Björn Ågren and Carl Dalemo revealed they’d been back working together for the first time in over a decade, correcting the unsatisfactory conclusion to their original formation. The first phase of the group’s classic line-up reuniting included a live streamed gig, a series of festival dates to packed, wowed audiences, and a new collection titled Razorwhat? The Best Of Razorlight collated 11 of their finest moments plus two thrilling new tracks that demonstrated how the band’s creative spark has been relit.
The first fruits of their revitalised creativity came with the 2022 one-off single Call Me Junior, a punchy, energetic indie-rock gem, and two new songs on Razorwhat? broadened the sonic horizons further. Lead single ‘You Are Entering The Human Heart’ is bittersweet piano-pop that, in a sweet summation of their coming back together, features duel vocals from Borrell and Burrows. The snarling ‘Violence Forever’ was born out of a searing guitar riff from Ågren and captures the raw intensity of the quartet in a room together. Both bode well for the future.
A sold out 2022 UK tour reminded of their excellence as a genuinely live, no- backing-track guitar band, still in their prime and propelled the band into a new phase of recording. In two sessions during late 23 and early 2024, the band convened in the legendary producer Youth’s Spanish studio Space Mountain, and opened the door into a gallery of amazing new songs. “I think our best single is one we haven’t done yet,” says Borrell. “It’s gonna be interesting, that’s all I can say.”
Never a dull moment. Writing a new ending for themselves, Razorlight are back to cast out the boring in your life.

MeduullaWords as cross-links between different worlds, music as a bridge connecting cultures and a vehicle of understanding: Meduulla’s interpretation of a world-embracing sound imbues each of her songs on multiple levels. With roots in Zimbabwe, her youth spent in the north of Manchester and the creative drive of an aspiring beat poet, she’s made a name for herself in the British hip-hop scene in recent years. Her productions are laced with jazz and soul, ranging from rhythmically intricate to harmoniously elegant, as on her debut album “Oblongata” (2023). The conceptual harmonisation of her lyrics, titles and tracks is evident with her, wherever you look. For example, the medulla oblongata is the actual name of a vital structure linking our brain and organs, a conduit between the various parts of one whole. Influenced by both, but still something quite unique. For Meduulla, these influences were Kendrick Lamar and Lauryn Hill, A Tribe Called Quest and Chance The Rapper, as well as her cousins’ record collection. Today, the queer storyteller taps into a repertoire of musical styles that makes her own creations so multifaceted. The release of her eagerly awaited debut album “Tabula Rasa” just in time for the start of this year’s Reeperbahn Festival is a happy coincidence worth celebrating. -
Foo FightersBeloved botanical Brisbane beasts Full Flower Moon Band release their third studio album Megaflower. Following on from their acclaimed Diesel Forever, which launched the burgeoning project onto theatre and festival stages across the country and was one of 2021’s most acclaimed Australian rock albums, only one thing stopped it from being FFMB's best record: The fact that figurehead and bandleader Kate “Babyshakes” Dillon knew she hadn't written that yet.
“I could have easily not challenged myself, but I made a point of going through a real metamorphosis with every song,” says Dillon on the creation of Megaflower. “For the first time, I didn't have a grand concept going into making an album – I just had a point to prove.” That point? FFMB – and there's an entire botanical garden of ideas growing out of the dirt.
Featuring the full live ensemble in the studio with Dillon, with co-production (alongside Dillon) and mixing handled by the award-winning Tony Buchen (Smashing Pumpkins, Kirin J Callinan, Troye Sivan), Megaflower's widescreen vision is fully realised by Dillon's circle of trust. “I really appreciate my bandmates for sticking around and being on this ride with me”.
In addition to Megaflower's explorative sound, Dillon also notes that a lot of the fun that came with making the album was its wry streak of humour. “It's a very cheeky, sarcastic album”, says Dillon. “You could read the lyrics like prose, I think. There's a funny take on the modern age in there, from a lot of varying perspectives.”
To celebrate the release of Megaflower, Dillon and co. are set to tour this August to September with a series of Australian headliners. In the meantime, Dillon hopes you get well acquainted with Full Flower Moon Band's new terrain – and, with hushed awe, behold the Megaflower.
