With lashings of twang and bold Americana sounds; Ella Hooper's Overnight Success era is here! Sharing tunes from her new album recorded in and with the who's who of Nashville; Ella is hitting the road with her kick-arse live band to celebrate. One of Australia's most chameleonic live performers known for her unbridled energy and off-beat charisma, Ella shows what she's really made of with a return to the classic sounds of the music that raised her. Heartfelt, lyric-driven, rambunctious one minute, capsizing you into your feels the next; an Ella Hooper live show feels like a mix of stand-up comedy meets rock and roll - both immediate and intimate. A powerhouse singer, Ella's musical range is vast and mighty. Recalling the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt spliced with a modern cheeky twist; Ella keeps things fresh even when referencing the classics. Backed by a stellar live band featuring fiddle, searing electric guitar and tight three-piece vocal harmonies; this is a chameleonic country rock show from Violet Town's poet punk princess. "I've been DYING. to tour this album! It's was literally made to be played live and that was abig part of the aesthetic I was looking for in Nashville, I wanted it to feel easy, free and like a ringing a bell.. some songs have that real solo spotlight, torch song intimacy to them, like the title track itself is a real solo belter, very red velvet curtain, very drama! And others I just let loose on.. that's my aim for every one that comes along. To have a choose your own adventure, a tasting plate if you will, of my approach to the genre I love and am playing in now - Americana, which takes in roots, rock, folk and zydeco even! In short; it's jumpin'!"
Ella will be joined by up and coming Melbourne based artist; Ruby Mae on all shows. A proud and powerful young Wiradjuri woman, Ruby has been tearing up the airwaves on Triple J and Triple M as well as gracing festival stages across the country. Gaining traction and fans everywhere she goes for her authentic, music-first approach, the wit and warmth of songs like 'Dickhead' and 'Keeper' are a perfect match for Ella's confessional, wry new material.

Ella Hooper OfficialGabby Steel is an up-and-coming Australian singer-songwriter who has captivated audiences with her enthralling stage presence and powerhouse vocals. At just 24 years old, Gabby has established herself as a talented musician with a distinctive voice and a gift for crafting soulful and memorable folk-pop songs. Inspired by the likes of Missy Higgins, Adele, and Courtney Barnett, Gabby is constantly striving to create a fresh yet familiar sound, blending elements of soul, pop, and jazz. Gabby has gained a dedicated following thanks to her honest and authentic approach to songwriting, with striking vocals and heartfelt lyrics at the centrepiece of her music.
The multi-instrumentalist boasts a long list of major competition wins including Geelong's Best Busker, Port Fairy Folk Festival's Best Busker and Emerging Talent competitions, and Queenscliff Music Festival's Foot in The Door competition. Although she’s not one to brag, her mum did tell her once that she is the best musician out of all her kids… the fact that she’s an only child has nothing to do with it!
In 2019, the Geelong musician released her debut, self-titled EP filled with evocative lyrics that tackle big issues from mental health, gun violence, to bullying. Gabby has gone on to release a second EP titled Scuttle in 2022 and is excited to be joined by her rockin’ girl band for the release of her latest work later this year. -
Ella HooperElla Hooper burst onto the Australian music scene as the technicolour front woman of Killing Heidi, an unlikely success story - the teenage band from the bush who went on claiming pop rock dominion with a string of hit singles, no.1 album, sold out tours, Rolling Stone covers and more. Ella was the first ever woman and youngest person to be awarded APRA’s Songwriter of the Year Award. Now three albums deep into a celebrated solo career spanning synth folk, rock, country and Americana, Ella also balances a successful side hustle hosting multiple TV and radio shows, making her more than just a pop singer in her native Aus. Ella’s most recent album Small Town Temple explores her love of country / Americana. Written in her tiny hometown of Violet Town in a period where, tragically, she lost both her beloved parents to cancer within two weeks of each other, Small Town Temple has been praised for its heart, authenticity and unique 'Australiana' perspective. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Country chart and was nominated for the prestigious Australian Music Prize. Firmly in her country era and carrying enough highs and lows to really do the genre justice, Ella is now collaborating on a new record with Grammy Award winning Nashville stalwarts like Jim Lauderdale, Steve Poltz, Melody Walker (Sierra Ferrell) and LOLLIES aka Clare Reynolds (Rachel Baiman, Timbaland). With this record on the horizon, Hooper delivers her most assured work yet.
